Just received a pair of Rollover bite indicators. These are popular amongst predator anglers especially where low resistance is required. I ordered them yesterday and they came this morning. Brilliant service. I am now planning a pair of Billy's Backbiters as the two can be used together. If you don't know anything about them details can be found here, well worth a look.

http://www.zandavan.co.uk/index2.html

Pike Rig

I know there is a section in the archive on this but i thought i would update on the new improved forum.

Pike rigs are varied obviously depending on method used but i thought a wee bit about what rigs we like to use where and when could be a help to each other or members who have not fished for pike.

I have predominantly always used a very simple running lead rig when pike fishing either flat on the bottom or popped up depending on location. The main reason for this being it works for me.

The trace being 18'' or more in length with either two trebles (size 6) or a treble and single hook combination between 4 and 6'' apart depending on bait size. This is tied to the mainline where i have a bead to protect the knot and swivel then a lead on a running clip bead. I like to also have this on some rig tubing of several feet to prevent tangles when casting, but this is something i have only been using for the last 12 months and have found it works.

If i am popping up the bait i have fashioned some pop up hair rigs for the corks using some swivel clips and light line. I use a baiting needle to attach this through the fish onto the cork and then use boilie stops to hold in place. This is then clipped onto my wire trace by the hooks. I have found that this also gives some extra security of the bait on the hooks paticularly with soft baits such as half herring.

Appologies for no pictures my PC has a hatred of connecting to the camera for some reason.

Well be good to hear peoples thoughts and share some of their rigs with us all.

Neil
